UCI World Cup, Rnd 4, Fort William

Right now, as I type, it's the build up to the biggeest race on UK soil this year. The weather is cracking but across the UK rain, even sleet, is forecast! If you can't make it to the site, fear not - DIRT and Freecaster are braving the midgees at the Fort William and beaming the lowdown back to the safety of your desktop...
20,000 visitors are set of hit the Fort this weekend and set the hillside alight with an electric atmosphere as riders from across the world compete for glory in the 4th round of the UCI World Cup downhill and 4X.

Peaty's fans are going to be hanging from the trees in anticipation as he races Greg, Gee and Sam in the chase for the overall points lead. Steve currently leads the series by a mere 7 points over Greg Minnarr. 7 is also the number of years Greg has on his side!

A top five place would see Steve take to the podium for the fiftieth time in his career – another first for a professional mountain biker.

Tracy Moseley, Malvern (3rd Overall World Cup Ranking) and Fionn Griffith are also set to fly the flag for Brits on home soil. Tracy Moseley took gold at Fort William last year and hopes to continue her success on one of her favourite courses in the world.

With YouTube video star Danny MacAskill heading up ’The Clan’, demo on Saturday it's going to be a spectacular weekend.

Watch live on-line

After Steve Peat's historic victory in Vallnord, Andorra, where became the most 'winningest' World Cup racer ever, www.dirtmag.co.uk now visits Fort William in Scotland for Round 4 of the Nissan UCI World Cup this weekend. We have the usual crack squad of photographers, 'journalists' and of course the Parkin brothers sorting out all the Dirt TV stuff for us.

Keep checking back for head cam of the track, daily news and videos, results and goings on as they happen, and look out early next week for a full 'TV style' round up of events.

Check it out and spread the word, we will have it all:

dirtmag.co.uk.

Results

The UCI are usually pretty snappy and details will be on the mountain bike page of uci.ch.
